Go HEAD-TO-HEAD to become the crowned champion of the Okanagan Coffee Fest Latte Art Competition! Happening Saturday October 3rd at the Laurel Packing House. This event is FREE TO ENTER with the purchase of a festival ticket. But it is only open to 24 Competitors so if you’re down to throw down sign up here, on this page!

The format is a basic bracket-style event that will get slightly more challenging the more you progress. You will go head-to-head with a random competitor and the winner will progress to the next round… sudden death for the unfortunate competitor. The day will progress as follows:

Round 1 (During OKFC Session 1, 9:30am to 11:00am)

24 Competitors, 1v1, sudden death.

Pour 2 designs: 1 symmetrical, 1 freestyle

Round 2 (During OKCF Session 2, 12:00pm-1:30pm)

12 Competitors, 1v1, sudden death.

Pour 3 designs, 2 different symmetrical, 1 freestyle

FINAL Round (During OKCF Session 3, 2:30pm-3:30pm)

6 Competitors, until positions 1-6 are determined

Pour 3 designs, 1 symmetrical, 1 freestyle, 1 freestyle with OATLY Oat Milk

Winner’s Ceremony follows immediately after the results are finalized

You will be judged on Execution, Contrast/Clarity, and Symmetry OR Degree of Difficulty

PRIZES:

1st Place- $250.00 and a trophy

2nd Place-$150.00 and a medal

3rd Place- $50.00 and a medal

Espresso Equipment provided by ECM Burnaby, ceramic cups and pouring jugs provided by Eight Ounce Coffee, oat milk provided by Oatly.

Additional Rules: Machine and espresso shots will be dialed by the event officiator. Milks and coffee will be provided by the event, you cannot bring your own. Ceramic dishware will all be the same vessels(8oz Acme Latte Cups). Steaming jugs will be provided, but you can use your own. Event check-in begins at 9:00am at the back rear entrance of the Laurel Packing House. All decisions made by judges will be deemed final! Entry only valid with the purchase of a festival ticket(please purchase for session 1, Saturday at 9:00am). Round winners will be allowed to stay and continue the competition. If you do not progress, you will not be eligible to stay for the remainder of the competition(consider buying a Weekend Pass). And of course, have a good time. Entrants consent to the use of their name, likeness, photos/videos to be used for promotion and publicity. Rules and format are subject to change!
